Sirpirmas (Lithuanian for Riping) - a work capturing the essence of ripening fruit, the unfolding of life. The shape of the vessel is sleek and light, the top of it reminds the crown of a flower that has spread out from a seed. dega philosophy is a visual interpretation of living nature motifs, a play between materiality and abstraction. It is a dream about forest, sea & fire. The work Sirpimas manifests all these concepts with a twist of minimalistic artistry.
This one-off piece is entirely handbuilt & handcrafted. The surface is kept raw, unglazed, leaving the natural texture of rough chamotte clay sensible. Glazed inside. High-fired at 1200°C. Suitable for water storage.
